International governments’ accountability in global problems including aids and water scarcity will increase with globalisation. At the moment issues like water scartcity are being treated as a possible cause for future conflict. Government’s must always try to avoid war so accountability should be high. Governments must always be careful not to cause further problems when for example America tried to improve Women’s rights in the middle east.

i cant wait for geogre w bush to retire so a new president possibly hilary clinton
she seems alright
she wouldnt start a war with iraq
and send thousands of men to a tragic death
its uncalled for
i saw the documentary farenheit 9 11
showing what a joke george w bush truly is
and the conspiracy about the governemnt knowing about the terroist attack on the twin towers
the defense secretary is also to blame
how can she justify these deaths
now tony blair what even worse his relationship with george bush is questionable
but now he has retired so is bush
i think we all need to sort it out

All of those issues (and many others that were not mentioned) are important world issues that aren’t always fixed or improved by the country in which it is happening. This is when I believe that other national governments should play a role in assuring that the issues are at least improved. I don’t think they should be held completely accountable, but they do have a role. For an example, women’s rights issue in the Middle East has been more improved by other national governments, rather than the Middle East itself. There is still a lot to be done to liberate the women, and it seems like it will be in the hands of other national governments, like enforcing laws.

I think for the most part many world governments have taken a more passive role in dealing with these global issues. When asked about AIDS, some governments and officials, especially in Africa and Asia, choose to believe that AIDS is not a big deal. The fact is that the number living and dying because of AIDS continues to steadily increase. One of the major problems with AIDS is that treatment and medicine are very expensive, so those living in poverty can’t afford to buy medicine and are forced to live with AIDS. World governments need to promote education, awareness, cheaper treatment, and support for its citizens. With more awareness and education, more citizens could be informed about safe sex practices and the dangers of contracting AIDS. Cheaper medicine would make living with AIDS easier for those who are poor. Right now is the time for our world governments to take a stand against AIDS.

In the aspect of contributing foreign aid and helping development in poor countries, there is little to no system to hold world governments accountable to achieve progress. In other domestic issues, governments are held more accountable because the citizens can tell directly when things are not being done right. People can not see the lack of progress being made by foreign aid programs, especially in Africa. Unbiased awareness of the conditions in poor nations is necessary to drive politicians to make the billions of dollars in foreign aid that pour into Africa effective.
