21/09 International Day of Peace

July 21, 2007 · 11 Comments

Many of our planet’s problems are caused by conflict and by people not treating each other with respect. On 21st September, people around the world will be celebrating the UN’s International Day of Peace and thinking about ways to make the Earth a more peaceful place.

The International Day of Peace was a successful one for our Notre Dame schools. It brought an awareness to our students that they can make a difference in our world through prayer and action. I look forward to continuing this tradition on behalf of our Notre Dame schools on every September 21.

We now have in our Notre Dame world new ways to connect through the network of the Sisters of Notre Dame http://www.sndden.org, Notre Dame Virtual School http://www.ndvs.org, NotreDameOnline http://www.NotreDameOnline.org, and our many school and community websites.

Let us encourage one another to create peace through our schools and our world.

1 ) Global Peace is desired as absence of it impacts each one of us and humanity has to pay a huge price for it.
2)Global Community has to co-exist harmoniously and join hands together and condemn violence.A lasting peace can be acheived by communicating and removing latent grievances which are the cause of conflict

    3) We as individual have to be rational and not have stereotyped notions regarding people on the basis of their colour ,caste, creed and sex.
As teachers we have to create awareness amongst students the need for Global Peace and concern for humanity

The International Peace Day was celebrated in Apeejay Sheikh Sarai on 21st September with a special assembly which started with a peace song led by the school choir , followed by peace quotes. The school display boards had the theme of the day – “PEACE ONE DAY”. Students had also prepared peace quotes slides which were viewed by all . Hope to continue with this tradition every year.

A good parent needs to be able to keep the child safe and happy. The parent needs to be responsible and loving. They must treat all there children equally. It would help if the parent could discipline the child. They must understand the child what ever happens. They must not forget there selves but still have time with the children. They need to be able to support the child if there having a difficult time. They must be able to give the child what ever they need.

    1. Why is it so important to have global peace?

It is very important to have global peace because it will help us to stop misery and destruction all over the world…..

    2. How can the global community bring peace to the world?

The global community can realise people about how the people feel who are not globally indepentent or are treated not equally because of their lower caste and religious . If people are not treated equally then there can be a conflict between the people and goverment…..

    3. What can you do to help make the world a more peaceful place to live?

We can make make organisations and community to stop the discrimination taking place in the world . We should realise people that they are all equal and they have all the right that a rich or a normal person needs . We should aware people that they can register their a complain if they are not treated equally…..

Global warming is a very serious matter, it is when the temperature on earth increases alot!Though I believe that if scientists work together, we can find out something that we dont know. Fortunately there are ways that we can help. One way is to recycle different objects that can be recycled. Also if you carpool or use public transportation to get here and there. I know that we dont want our planet to be a empty one.
